The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Samsung has officially kicked off its Android 16 Beta Program, and that means the first One UI 8 Beta is now rolling out to the Galaxy S24 lineup. If you’ve been itching to try out all the new features and see what’s next for your phone, now is your chance. It’s a pretty big deal, and if you’re quick, you can be one of the first to try it out.
How to Join the One UI 8 Beta Program
Getting into the program is pretty simple, but you have to act fast. Samsung only opens up a limited number of slots, and they tend to fill up pretty quickly. If you want to get your hands on this new software before anyone else, you need to head over to the Samsung Members app right away. It’s the key to everything.
Once you’re in the Samsung Members app—which you can get from the Play Store or Galaxy Store—just look for a banner that says something like “One UI Beta Program.” You’ll need to tap that, agree to a few terms, and then hit “Enroll.” That’s all there is to it! Just make sure you’re logged into your Samsung account, of course.
After you’ve enrolled, you’ll need to go into your phone’s settings to download the new software. Just navigate to Settings > Software updates, and you should see the One UI 8 Beta update waiting for you. It usually shows up within about 10 minutes of signing up. Just a quick tip: it’s always a good idea to back up your phone’s data before you install a beta, just to be safe.
So what’s the deal with this new update? This first beta is based on Android 16 and is a pretty big download, coming in at over 3GB. While the stable version of One UI 8 is already on the new S25 series, this is your chance to see some of the cool new stuff on your S24, like a refined user interface and some enhanced AI features.
While the stable version for the S25 series is coming out next month, there’s no official timeline yet for when the rest of us will get the final public release. But don’t worry, getting on the One UI 8 Beta means you’ll be at the front of the line to experience the new software. So, if you’re a fan of trying out new tech and giving feedback, this is the perfect opportunity.
The beta program is also open to owners of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, so it’s a big day for a lot of Samsung users. If you’ve been waiting for a new update to make your phone feel fresh again, this is it. Happy updating!
