One UI 8.5 stable update is something Galaxy users are actively waiting for right now, especially those using the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung has already pushed three beta updates, and with each release, the software feels more polished. Naturally, this has sparked one big question in the community — Is the Stable Update coming before the Galaxy S26 launch?
For now, Galaxy S25 users can only experience One UI 8.5 through the beta program. The beta builds bring noticeable improvements, but they still come with small bugs and unfinished elements. That’s why many users are holding off and waiting for the final version. There are also reports that Samsung could release a fourth beta update on Monday, January 19, which suggests testing is still ongoing.

One UI 8.5 Stable Update is likely tied to the Galaxy S26 launch
At the same time, Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to debut on February 25. With the launch just weeks away, it’s understandable why many users think Samsung might release the One UI 8.5 stable update ahead of the new phones.
However, based on Samsung’s usual software strategy, that doesn’t seem very likely. Samsung almost always introduces new major One UI versions alongside its latest flagship devices. This time appears to be no different. The company is expected to officially debut the One UI 8.5 stable update with the Galaxy S26 series.
That also means Galaxy S25 devices currently enrolled in the beta program will probably stay on beta builds until the Galaxy S26 goes official. Samsung is expected to use this time to push one or two more beta updates to improve stability and fix remaining issues.
Once the Galaxy S26 series is announced, the One UI 8.5 stable update should begin rolling out to supported devices. As usual, the rollout will happen gradually, starting with newer models before reaching other eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
