Samsung isn’t slowing down with its Android 16 skin. After rolling out Beta 3 earlier this month, the company is already preparing One UI 8.5 Beta 4 for Galaxy S25 users, and the update could land within days.
The previous beta made a noticeable difference. Battery drain complaints eased, performance became more consistent, and the software felt closer to what users would expect from a near-finished build. Still, Samsung quickly moved on, starting work on the next beta almost immediately.
At this point, One UI 8.5 feels less experimental and more about polishing the experience. The focus now appears to be on small but important details—things users notice during everyday use rather than big headline features.

One UI 8.5 Beta 4 Focuses on Refinement Rather Than New Features
If the current timeline holds, One UI 8.5 Beta 4 should begin rolling out around January 19, though a short delay is always possible. As usual, Galaxy S25 users enrolled in the beta program in select regions will receive the update first.
Leaks suggest this build may include a kernel upgrade aimed at improving overall smoothness. Samsung may also quietly prepare users for upcoming features through its Tips app, offering early hints ahead of the Galaxy S26 launch.
Even with these improvements, the beta program is unlikely to wrap up just yet. Samsung typically saves the stable release for a flagship debut, and One UI 8.5 is expected to take center stage alongside the Galaxy S26 before reaching a wider audience.
