Galaxy S25 Edge Not in One UI 8 Beta – Stable Build Now in Progress
Samsung launched the One UI 8 Beta Program last month, initially making it available exclusively for the Galaxy S25 series. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge was notably excluded from the beta rollout. Despite this, Samsung has now begun development on the official One UI 8 firmware for the slimmer S25 Edge variant.
Samsung Begins Galaxy S25 Edge One UI 8 Firmware Development
According to tipster Alfaturk, Samsung has begun development of the One UI 8 firmware for the Galaxy S25 Edge. The first internal build, identified as S937BXXU1BYF7, has been spotted on Samsung’s servers. This is an official version, indicating that the device will skip the beta phase—at least for now.
Reports suggest that Samsung has also begun internal testing of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S24 series, signaling that a broader rollout may not be far off.
The Galaxy S25 series debuted earlier this year, while the Galaxy S25 Edge only recently arrived on store shelves. This slim flagship ships with Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box and may bypass the beta phase for its upcoming One UI 8 update.
The Galaxy S25 Edge strikes a balance between the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. It features a display and dimensions similar to the S25 Plus, while adopting the primary camera setup from the S25 Ultra—making it a well-rounded flagship device
Samsung has yet to see strong sales for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Despite its premium positioning, the device faces criticism for notable drawbacks, including the absence of a telephoto camera, a relatively small 3,900mAh battery, and a steep price tag of $1,200. These limitations have significantly impacted its market performance.
So far, the Galaxy S25 series has received two One UI 8 Beta updates. Samsung is expected to officially unveil One UI 8 alongside its upcoming foldable devices next month. Before the stable release rolls out, the Galaxy S25 lineup is likely to receive at least two more beta updates
When it comes to the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung may choose to skip the One UI 8 Beta Program entirely. Given the device’s lower sales and the fact that the broader S25 series is already participating in beta testing, Samsung developers can more easily optimize the firmware internally without releasing a public beta for the Edge variant.
Samsung’s One UI 8 is a crazy upgrade over One UI 7. While the UI changes are very minor, they make a great impact on the overall appearance. It will be worth upgrading your device to One UI 8 to unlock the extended potential of One UI 7
