Samsung hasn’t even announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra yet, but camera leaks are already starting to surface. The most interesting detail so far is the main camera sensor, which is expected to be called S5KHP6, unless Samsung decides to change its naming again.
According to well-known leaker @UniverseIce, the new sensor will keep the same size as the HP2. Instead of increasing the sensor footprint, Samsung appears to be focusing on internal upgrades and new imaging technologies.

Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Sensor Upgrade Details
The S5KHP6 is said to bring several under-the-hood improvements that could noticeably affect real-world photography. These changes may help with better light capture, sharper details, and more stable results in difficult scenes.
Samsung’s camera performance has always relied heavily on processing, and this new sensor could work alongside updated algorithms. Improvements in HDR balance, night photography, and color consistency are all likely areas of focus.
This strategy makes sense. Simply making sensors larger doesn’t always lead to better photos. Refining sensor tech while keeping the same size allows Samsung to improve image quality without redesigning the entire camera system.
If early information is accurate, the S27 Ultra may offer meaningful camera improvements without chasing unnecessary hardware changes. That’s often where Samsung manages to stand out.
Nothing is official yet, but the S5KHP6 sensor is shaping up to be one of the more interesting S27 Ultra upgrades as leaks continue to emerge.
