Samsung has reportedly paused the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic after users complained about performance issues. The update is based on Wear OS 6 and was expected to be the final major software update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Galaxy Watch 4 Battery Drain Issue
After installing the update, many users reported problems on Reddit, X, and Samsung Community forums. The most common complaints include battery drain and health sensors not working properly. Features like heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, and step counting are affected.
Battery life has dropped significantly for some users. Several reports say the watch now lasts only 12 to 15 hours, compared to 24 to 30 hours before the update. One user even claimed the battery dropped by 20 percent in just a few minutes after updating an app.

Users have also noticed issues with the always-on display, which may drain the battery faster than usual. Some tried clearing the cache to fix the problem, but this solution has not worked for everyone.
Although Samsung has not confirmed anything officially, some users say they have not received the update yet. This suggests Samsung may have quietly paused the rollout to prevent more users from facing these issues.
The Galaxy Watch 4 series launched in 2021 and runs on the Exynos W920 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage. Since One UI 8 Watch was expected to be the final major update, users are now waiting for Samsung to release a fix before the rollout continues.
